What’s Happening…
FROM DML
> HURRICANE CHINA
I am 55 years old, and have always lived on the east coast. Between my time living on Long Island and now Florida, I am well aware of how powerful the weather can be during hurricane season. But, I have never seen a hurricane head into the mountains of NC, nor have I seen a hurricane develop on the west side of the Gulf of Mexico. Something is going on, and I do not like it. We will discuss this today on the podcast.

FROM DENNY
> Hurricane Milton Incoming…
As my dad mentioned, the next hurricane looming toward Florida is expected to be devastating. Current projections have it hitting the state's west coast Wednesday evening, possibly as a Category 4 or 5. As of the writing of this newsletter, it is a Cat 4.
Floridians are resilient and always prepared for the worst; it’s just sickening to me that we can’t count on FEMA since they spent all their funds relocating migrants! October is shaping up to be a stormy month; let’s hope we can all weather it out until the election.
> TODAY’S PODCAST
We will be going LIVE today at 10:30am ET. We are covering Milton’s current trajectory and how it will impact us. FROM RYAN
>Hillary Clinton
While the entire news cycle is now about hurricanes, there’s another type of storm brewing. It’s called: Hillary Clinton. She continues to do television hits and interviews where she pushes the idea of eradicating facets of the First Amendment. For example, she recently told CNN host Michael Smerconish that while there have been some steps taken at the state level to regulate social media, she wants to see more done by the federal government to moderate content.

II: WHITE HOUSE 2024
TRUMP 2024
Written by Denny
Philadelphia’s working-class Democrats appear to be gravitating towards President Donald Trump in increasing numbers.
A recent report from The Philadelphia Inquirer indicated a growing shift among voters in the city’s poorer wards and districts, which have typically leaned heavily Democratic in past elections. However, rising economic concerns and dissatisfaction with current leadership have led to a notable trend of Democratic voters re-registering as Republicans and expressing support for Trump.
Gabriel Lopez, a 27-year-old Philadelphia resident, initially registered as a Democrat and cast his vote for Hillary Clinton in 2016. However, in the years since, he switched his registration to Republican and now openly supports Trump.
Lopez cited economic issues as a significant factor in his decision: “Democrats keep saying [Trump] is going to bring down the economy, but he was already president for four years, and taxes were lower. We’re tired of the same politics. We got a different type of guy, and the people actually love him.”
A retired truck driver, Jim Kohn, also cited economic conditions for his political shift: "When Trump was president, everything was cheaper. Now, everything is so sky-high."
While many Democrats in the city remain hopeful for Vice President Kamala Harris’s chances in the state, the growing support for Trump concerns them. As Álvarez Febo, a Democrat who still plans to vote for Harris, said, “Kamala is supposed to be saving our democracy, but that doesn’t mean much when people are struggling to keep their lights on.”
ALSO: Trump returned to hold a rally at Butler, Pennsylvania, this past Saturday, where he narrowly survived an assassination attempt just 12 weeks earlier. Saturday’s rally had a moving tribute to Corey Comperatore, who lost his life in the attack in July, as well as a profound display of the never-quit spirit of the entire Make America Great Again movement.
Some have estimated that as many as 60,000 people attended the rally, and there were plenty of highlight moments. Click here to see them.
REMINDER: Early voting kicked off today in several states, including the nation's two most populous: California and Texas. Montana, Georgia, Nebraska, New Hampshire, and South Carolina also opened their early voting polls on Monday.
HARRIS 2024
Written by DML
"Call Her Daddy" podcast host Alex Cooper faced backlash from her audience after dropping a surprise interview with Vice President Kamala Harris over the weekend.
Harris’ appearance was seen by many as a transparent attempt to court the youth vote, but it didn’t sit well with a portion of Cooper’s loyal fan base. Many followers expressed frustration and criticism in the comments, describing the episode as political propaganda that strayed from the show’s usual content.
“One of my most favorite podcasts and now I’ll never listen again. Unbelievable,” wrote one user.
Another chimed in, “DONE, this was my fav podcast. I’m 100% disgusted.”
Others accused the podcast of trying to portray Harris as relatable to Gen Z, with one comment reading, “This feels like propaganda and trying to make her look ‘Gen Z.’”
Fans also criticized Cooper for failing to address critical national issues during the interview, such as the ongoing border crisis and the administration’s response to Hurricane Helene.
“Ask her about what she’s doing to help hurricane victims instead of talking in circles about women’s rights,” one fan commented. Another added, “Wait, what about the abuse and crime caused by the illegal immigrants flooding the country?”
Instead of addressing these pressing issues, Harris focused on topics like abortion rights and strategies to curb domestic violence. The decision not to cover more controversial topics added to the frustration of fans who saw the interview as an attempt to dodge serious questions.
Moreover, Harris avoided addressing recent accusations against her husband, Doug Emhoff, reported by the Daily Mail, in which Emhoff allegedly "forcefully slapped an ex-girlfriend for flirting with another man" during a booze-fueled incident following a date to a star-studded gala. This further disappointed listeners who expected Cooper to step up and create a legitimate discussion on issues that Harris consistently avoids discussing.
The episode was released after the podcast inked a lucrative $125 million deal with SiriusXM last August, and some fans feel the show’s change in direction is no longer in line with its original premise.
III: BORDERLESS
Written by Ryan
Multiple sources report that a large group of mostly Central and South American migrants has left Chiapas in southern Mexico, aiming for the U.S. border.
The group is demanding quicker processing of transit permits under President Claudia Sheinbaum's new administration. Independent journalist Ali Bradley estimated the size of the caravan to be around 6,000 migrants.
Videographer Auden Cabello reported that the migrants were frustrated with the Biden-Harris CBP One app, which prevented them from scheduling appointments for border crossings or direct flights into the U.S. As a result, the group left Tapachula, Chiapas, on Saturday and began heading toward the U.S. southern border.
“The caravan is currently being escorted by Mexico’s National Guard, state police, and an ambulance,” Cabello reported. “Authorities are offering migrants the option to remain in Tapachula and receive assistance with their CBP One applications.”
In July, another migrant caravan of approximately 3,000 people left Mexico's southern border. By mid-September, large groups of migrants began crossing the border again in the Eagle Pass, Texas, region, marking a resurgence in crossings along the U.S.-Mexico border.
Check out the video of the incoming caravan by clicking here.
