What’s Happening…

FROM DML

>An FBI Goodbye

It looks like it’s official since our reporting yesterday: Christopher Wray has resigned as the Director of the FBI. This opens up the pathway for President-elect Trump to get his nominee for the role, Kash Patel, approved by Congress. I can confidently say that none of us will miss Wray's leadership of the bureau, especially Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), who wrote a scorching 11-page letter to Wray on Monday saying he has “no confidence” in his leadership.

FROM DENNY

>Grab the Mace, Face the Consequences

Republican Rep. Nancy Mace has had quite a tumultuous few weeks in her quest to safeguard the privacy rights of women.

U.S. Capitol Police arrested James McIntyre, 33, of Illinois, for allegedly assaulting the South Carolina representative at the Capitol. Mace stated on X that she was "physically accosted" by a supporter of transgender rights.

Mace announced in a social media post-Tuesday night, “I was physically accosted at the Capitol tonight by a pro-tr*ns man. One new brace for my wrist and some ice for my arm and it’ll heal just fine. The Capitol police arrested the guy. Your tr*ns violence and threats on my life will only make me double down. FAFO. #HoldTheLine.”

According to journalist Andy Ngo, “LGBTQ+ activist James McIntyre allegedly grabbed @NancyMace’s hand aggressively, tightened his grip and shook her around by her arm. Rep. Mace weighs only around 115 pounds. McIntyre faces a charge of assaulting a government official, a felony.”

FROM RYAN

>Drone Zone

Large drones have been buzzing over New Jersey since November 18, raising concerns as they fly near Trump’s Bedminster golf course and military research sites. The DHS and FBI are investigating, but the activity continues unchecked. Rep. Jeff Van Drew is claiming the drones are from Iran, despite Pentagon denials, and calling for them to be shot down.

II: WHITE HOUSE 2024

A friend in Fetterman

TRUMP 2024

President-elect Trump has a new pal and case advocate on Truth Social: Sen. John Fetterman.

The Pennsylvania Democrat wrote his first post on the platform and called for the ‘hush money’ case against Trump to be pardoned. His comment was about an MSNBC report announcing that Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg has refused to dismiss the case.

Fetterman wrote: “My first truth. The Trump hush money and Hunter Biden cases were both bullshit, and pardons are appropriate. Weaponizing the judiciary for blatant, partisan gain diminishes the collective faith in our institutions and sows further division.”

This comes after Fetterman declared in an appearance on ABC’s ‘The View’ that Trump should be pardoned, stating: “I think a pardon is appropriate and I think collectively, I think Americans’ confidence in these institutions have been damaged by these kinds of cases and we can’t allow these kinds of institutions to be weaponized against our political opponents and it’s very clear, both trials were politically motivated and weaponized on the other side.”

Blinken’s bads

THE LEFT 2024

Outgoing Secretary of State Antony Blinken expressed regret for not doing more to protect the 13 U.S. troops killed in the 2021 Kabul airport bombing during the Afghanistan withdrawal.

In a House Foreign Affairs Committee hearing, Blinken mixed remorse with a defensive tone after months of resisting the panel's probe into the chaotic exit. Blinken also reportedly tried to blame the first Trump administration, claiming, “Any attempt to understand, learn from the US withdrawal from Afghanistan has to be put in the proper context of what preceded it.”

He added: “All of us, including myself, wrestled with what we could have done differently during that period and over the preceding two decades.”

Inside the hearing room, a constant loop of photos of the 13 fallen service members was played on the television. And although the hearing was about the Afghanistan withdrawal, a number of Pro-Palestinian supporters arrived to protest the Israel-Hamas war, calling the Secretary of State “Bloody Blinken.”

ALSO: Senate Republicans blocked outgoing Majority Leader Chuck Schumer's attempt to secure a Democratic majority on the National Labor Relations Board for Trump’s first two years. Schumer miscalculated, losing a key procedural vote after Senators Kyrsten Sinema (I-Ariz.) and Joe Manchin (I-W.Va.) voted "No," defeating nominee Lauren McFerran's confirmation. Read More Here.

III: BORDERLESS

The real numbers

The New York Times has finally acknowledged that the Biden administration has overseen the largest immigration surge in U.S. history, with over 60% being illegal entries.

According to the Times' analysis, the pace of immigration from 2021 to 2023 surpassed the great migration era of the late 1800s and early 1900s, even adjusting for population size. Net migration averaged 2.4 million annually during this period, and total net migration under Biden is projected to exceed 8 million, per the Congressional Budget Office.

The New York Times analysis includes legal and illegal immigration, with a Goldman Sachs report estimating 60% of immigrants since 2021 entered without legal authorization. Under Trump in 2020, 13.6% of the U.S. population was foreign-born, rising to 15.2% by 2023.

“After taking office, his administration loosened the rules on asylum and other immigration policies, making it easier for people to enter the United States. Some have received temporary legal status while their cases wend through backlogged immigration courts. Others have remained without legal permission,” the Times acknowledged.

ALSO: A suspected member of Venezuela’s Tren de Aragua gang was arrested in Palm Beach, Florida, near President-elect Trump’s residence, according to a senior Border Patrol official. The violent gang, now active in 16 states, has expanded due to the Biden administration’s open-border policies. Read More Here.
