The Cabinet grows with some cons & pros
I: THE DML REPORT
The list expands
Written by Team DML
President-elect Trump has been busy filling out his cabinet and administration rules. For today’s report, we will give a rundown overview of who Trump has selected for which position and whether their selection is an overall positive or drawback. Let’s take a look at who he’s brought on so far:
Secretary of State - Senator Marco Rubio of Florida: DML wrote the following on X about the selection of Rubio: “A bad pick, the guy wanted to give 20m illegals amnesty in 2013. He cannot be trusted. And why are we grabbing from Congress? Why are they making this harder than need be?”
Secretary of Homeland Security - South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem: DML wrote the following on X about the choice of Noem: “I’m perplexed. At least she’s dog friendly.”
National Security Adviser - Representative Mike Waltz of Florida: DML wrote the following on X about the selection of Waltz: “Was there nobody outside the House who could fill this role? We are barely hanging on to the majority. Taking folks away from the House provides risk of losing a special election be it via cheat or loss. Makes ZERO sense. Without both chambers we cannot make real change. I don’t get it. Please make me understand what I’m missing.”
Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) - Former New York Representative Lee Zeldin: DML wrote the following on X about Trump choosing Zeldin: “Trump has selected former Rep. Lee Zeldin (who ran for NY governor) to serve as administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency. I like Trump picking people who are NOT currently serving.”
Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy - Stephen Miller
Chief of Staff - Susie Wiles
U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations - Rep. Elise Stefanik: DML wrote the following on X about the selection of Stefanik: “Very concerned / confused why DT is grabbing a House member for the UN. We have a slim lead in the House. Seems risky. But I’m sure he’s thought this through and has a plan to ensure we keep the house, or so I pray.”
Border Czar - Tom Homan: DML wrote the following on X about Homan’s designation as ‘border czar’: “Illegals best begin packing their bags. Adios amigos. There’s a new boss in town and he ain’t playing games.”
As we get closer to the holidays, Trump’s announcements for key positions will continue to roll out. Make sure to reach out to DML, Denny or Ryan to share your thoughts about the shaping of the second Trump administration. Do you agree with the choices so far, or are there some you disagree with?

II: WHITE HOUSE 2024
TRUMP 2024
Going old school
Donald Trump’s election sets the stage for significant changes in higher education policy when he takes office in January, including his proposal to shut down the U.S. Department of Education.
With Republicans securing the Senate, the House’s outcome will shape Trump’s ability to advance his agenda. If Republicans control both chambers, Trump will have greater freedom to pursue legislative goals, including eliminating the Education Department.
Trump has pledged to use accreditation as a “secret weapon” against colleges, vowing to fire “radical left” accrediting agencies and criticizing colleges’ handling of campus protests. He also will fight radical left accreditors that have allowed colleges to become hotbeds for “Marxist maniacs and lunatics."
Additionally, Trump aims to apply new standards, including “defending the American tradition and Western civilization, protecting free speech, and eliminating wasteful administrative positions that drive up costs.”
THE LEFT 2024
Wall of Intolerance
According to a new Axios report, House Democrats are working to curb the Trump administration’s agenda while they still hold some power. Many fear complete GOP control could undo key Biden-era achievements. House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries is already preparing to lead the opposition against Trump’s efforts to unravel Biden’s work.
Said outgoing Congressional Progressive Caucus Chair Pramila Jayapal (D-Wash.): “A lot of things can be undone, but it can take longer to undo them and it will force a priority from them on what they want to focus on.”
Members of the Progressive, Black, Hispanic, Asian Pacific American, and Equality caucuses are leading discussions to counter Trump’s agenda, especially his promise of “mass deportations.”
Rep. Emanuel Cleaver said they're exploring ways to “reduce the damage,” while Rep. Jayapal noted efforts to propose executive orders for Biden to protect career civil servants and Justice Department officials from dismissal.
III: BORDERLESS
New honcho in town
Tom Homan, Trump’s newly appointed “border czar,” has made it clear that he’s taking an aggressive stance on border security and mass deportations, signaling a drastic shift from the current administration’s approach.
Speaking on Fox & Friends, Homan sent a message to sanctuary cities like New York, saying, “If we can’t get assistance from New York City, we may have to double the number of agents we send. Because we’re going to do the job with you or without you.”
He added that his team is ready to bring the necessary manpower to take back control of the immigration situation: “We’re going to get it done.”
Homan’s mission is straightforward: protect American communities by removing criminal illegal aliens and securing the U.S. border.
“If local police won’t cooperate, then we’ll wait until these criminals are out of jail, and we’ll go into the neighborhoods and get them,” he said firmly.
Homan, known for his tough stance on immigration, has zeroed in on public safety threats, emphasizing that his priority is deporting criminals, terror suspects, and gang members.
“If they’re not willing to do it, then get out of the way — we’re coming,” he stated, making it clear that sanctuary city policies won’t stand in his way.
